It appears that during the 2020s, film promotion will finally triumph over ability and sound judgment. In any case, when it comes to planning and narrating, inconvenience is accompanied by an emergency of thoughts. Counting perpetual refutations, continuations, and prequels, it “grows legs” from there. “Place of the Dragon” is a prequel to “Round of Thrones,” whose caring ending was overshadowed by widespread resentment. While fan theories about the series’ conclusion were confirmed, the scholars failed to make a “wow” impact.
On that note, HBO was unwilling to abandon such a powerful resource on which an entire generation of viewers had grown up. The release of two prequels was announced without hesitation. So far, no one has contacted us (the second is, by all accounts, frozen until better times). The Place of the Dragon takes place 172 years before the appearance of Daenerys Targaryen.
Avoid looking for natural names in the position. The prequels’ shortcoming (or, in some cases, strength) is the need to introduce completely new characters into the story. As with the “Place of the Dragon,” there are family names that stand out to us (at times, conspicuous emblems of what is to come in Westeros). But that will be in a little while. The Targaryen faction is currently the focus of attention: King Viserys I (Paddy Considine, also known as Comrade Andreev in the heinous “Demise of Stalin”) is attempting to decide who will be the beneficiary.
